What’s Up This Weekend in Simcoe County


TOTTENHAM BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL — Includes JP Cormier, The Good Brothers, New General Store, Vaudevillian, Switchback Road, and more. Enjoy Band Scramble, hands-on workshops and kids’ activities. June 24-26 at the Tottenham Conservation Area, 6787 4th Line, Tottenham. Website: tottenhambluegrass.ca/.

1ST ALLISTON KITE FESTIVAL — The event takes place at Warden’s Park, with stunt kites, family activities, a market, vendors and food. Free entry and parking. June 25 at Warden’s Park, 7855 Sideroad 30, Alliston. The rainy date is June 26.

WASAGA BEACH CRUISERS FUN RUN — This event includes a poker race on June 24 starting at 2:30 p.m., as well as a car show—$10 per entry, there’s room at the park for 800 entries—from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. , plus live entertainment , food and merchandise. Location: Klondike Sports Park, 1888 Klondike Park Road, Wasaga Beach.

BARRIE TROUBADOUR FESTIVAL — The Troubadour Festival is back and features Dwayne Gretzky, Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, Dylan Sinclair, Lydia Persaud and more. It is a casual and family event. June 24-25 at the Meridian Place Amphitheatre, 30 Simcoe Street, Barrie. Website: troubadourfestival.ca.

COLD WATER AND AREA STUDIO TOUR — This open and free visit presents the work of more than 20 talented and dynamic artists and artisans. New this year there will be a market square with outdoor vendors behind the Coldwater Mill on Saturdays. June 25 at various locations. Website: coldwaterstudiotour.com/.
