Swedish House Mafia to perform at Audacy Beach Festival in first US show since Ultra 2018
It’s been three years, but they’re finally back. Swedish house mafia will present its first show in the United States since Ultra Music Festival in 2018. With Boldness the output of the programming yesterday for Beach party in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Swedish power station will be the headliner of the event, closing the festival on Sunday.
The performance is a big moment for the American fans of the group because the last time the trio set foot in the United States was in Florida three years ago. That night they closed the 20th anniversary Ultra Music Festival with Axwell ending the set saying, “It’s the Swedish House Mafia for life this time.” But what followed was a year of silence, unproven rumors and ultimately the Covid-19 pandemic. But as early as July, the band officially made their comeback with two new singles and an announcement of plans for a world tour in 2022. And now, they’ll once again take to the stage on the beaches of Florida.
Scheduled to take place on December 4 and 5, Beach party will feature many prominent artists. Joining the trio will be Twenty-one pilots (headliner for Saturday), Weezer, Glass Animals, The Lumineers, AJR and Bastille.
This performance could quite possibly be the only one in the US ahead of the supposed world tour in 2022. So for fans of the band who haven’t seen the Swedish House Mafia, it might be best to get a ticket, given that it took three years for the trio to return.
Tickets for Audacy Beach Festival will go on sale Friday September 24. See all the Beach Festival programming below.
