Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huronia West Detachment are asking for the public’s help in a mischief investigation at Wasaga Beach.

Just over a year ago, a rainbow crosswalk was installed on Mosley Street at South 39th Street in Wasaga Beach. This crosswalk proudly celebrates the diversity within our community. Unfortunately, there have been several acts of vandalism on this crosswalk since it was installed.

On Wednesday, August 10 at 7:51 p.m., the driver of this vehicle (see photos) decided to deface the pedestrian crossing.

Do you know the person responsible for this?

Anyone who decides to commit a criminal offense like this will be held accountable.

Police are looking to speak to anyone with information about this or any other incidents involving this crosswalk. Anyone with information is asked to contact Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). When you contact Crime Stoppers, you remain anonymous, you never have to testify, and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000. Advice can also be provided on the Crime Stoppers website by visiting https://ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
