OPP lay charges in Collingwood, Wasaga and Stayner drug trafficking investigation

Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huronia West Detachment CSCU charged two people as part of an investigation into the drug trafficking in Collingwood, Stayner and Wasaga Beach.

In April 2021, CSCU Collingwood/Huronia West opened an investigation into cocaine and fentanyl trafficking in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and Stayner. On January 4, 2022, members of the CSCU carried out a traffic stop of the defendants driving their vehicles and arrested them without incident.

During the investigation, officers seized a loaded .45 caliber handgun, along with a large amount of fentanyl and cocaine. Controlled substances have an estimated street value of around $20,000.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been charged with numerous Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences.

Jerome Pantlitz-Soloman, 23, of Mississauga, was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of schedule 1 – cocaine
  • Possession of a firearm prohibited
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of prohibited ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Carry a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Jeremiah Soloman, 25, of Mississauga, was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Schedule I possession – fentanyl

Defendant Jerome Pantlitz-Soloman has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on January 5, 2022.

Accused Jeremiah Soloman was released on a promise and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on January 25, 2022.
