OPP and Homeland Security investigate counterfeit goods in Wasaga



Several search warrants were executed this morning as part of an ongoing investigation involving US authorities and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center

WASAGA BEACH – Following a joint investigation between members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huronia West Crime Unit and the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network, with assistance from the Department of Homeland Security United States (USDHS) and Anti-Fraud Center (CAFC), several search warrants were executed this morning shortly after 11 a.m.

These search warrants were executed as part of an ongoing investigation into counterfeit goods in the Beach Drive and First Street area in the town of Wasaga Beach. Expect an increased police presence in the area.

There is no threat to public safety. More details will be released when available as the investigation is ongoing.
