Middlesex-London Health Unit issues one-day heat alert for Saturday

London, Ont. –

With temperatures reaching the 1930s, the Middlesex London Health Unit issued a one-day heat alert.

While the forecast calls for a high of 31 degrees on Saturday, it will be much warmer with the Humidex.

Heat can be dangerous, especially for those most vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.

The health unit reminds people to stay hydrated, take breaks from the heat, wear sunscreen with SPF 30+, and wear a hat and light clothing.

Limit your outdoor activities to the cooler part of the day and check in with the elderly regularly.

Do not leave animals or children in vehicles, even if they are in the shade.

Sunday is expected to cool slightly, but several days of high temperatures and high humidity are likely throughout the coming week.
