Man sustains life-threatening injuries after assault at Wasaga Beach


A man suffered life-threatening injuries after an assault incident in Wasaga Beach on Tuesday.

Provincial police said they began receiving phone calls around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Officers say they were called to a residence on River Road East where they found an injured man.

He was taken to a Toronto-area trauma center, where he has remained in critical but stable condition since Thursday evening.

According to police, two men were seen fleeing the residence on foot, heading towards Main Street.

A suspect is described as:

  • 6’3″ to 6’6″
  • Wear a dark winter coat with a fur-lined hood
  • Wear the tuque with gloves
  • Wear a medical mask
  • Speak with an accent

The second suspect is described as:

  • 5’10”
  • Wear a dark winter coat with a fur-lined hood
  • wear black pants
  • Wear a balaclava
  • Wearing a black medical mask
  • Wear a camouflage neck warmer and gloves

At this stage, police say there is no risk to public safety as it is believed to be a targeted incident.
