Georgian Joins ‘Faster Together’ to Urge Students to Get Vaccinated

Campaign supports message that high immunization rates are essential to help society recover from pandemic

Georgian looks forward to the potential for increased activity on campus this fall. The college encourages students and staff to get vaccinated, so when the time comes to meet in person, we’re ready.

To support this commitment, Georgian is participating in Faster Together, a national social media campaign that encourages people of all age groups to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

“Getting vaccinated is the most effective way to protect ourselves, each other and the Georgian community,” said Dr. MaryLynn West-Moynes, President and CEO.

“The sooner we each get our shots, the sooner we can all come together for more in-person activities. We can safely start doing the things we love on campus and in the community again, and see the people who bring us meaning and joy. “

Faster Together is a cross-sector collaborative project led and developed by Spark Advocacy, Abacus Data and the Canadian Labor Congress. The social media campaign revolves around the message that high immunization rates are key to helping society recover from the pandemic.

It was launched in early June with over 100 partners from across the country, including Georgian, Colleges and Institute Canada and a number of other post-secondary institutions.

As part of Georgian’s promotional efforts around vaccination efforts, our grizzly mascot Growler recently visited a vaccination clinic and encourages people to follow in his footsteps.
