George Evenden obituary (2021) – Wasaga Beach, ON



In his 88th year, George Arthur Evenden passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in a hospice near his Wasaga Beach home with a family by his side and in their hearts. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, the late Maureen Evenden, who died earlier this year.
George was a loving and devoted husband, cherished father and (great) grandfather, beloved brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He also joins his loving parents, George and Miriam Evenden, his sister Edith Potter, his niece Sarah Potter and his grandson Taylor Nixon in Heaven. He is survived by his siblings Bruce Evenden (Penny) and Doreen Evenden; daughters Miriam O’Dowda (Rob), Sharon Roberts and Debbie Nixon (Daniel Beaudoin); son-in-law Mark Roberts, grandchildren Rachel Latkolik (Peter), Stephen Roberts, Christen O’Dowda, Braden O’Dowda and Trevor Nixon; great-grandchildren Hannah and Hailey Latkolik; all his nieces and nephews, longtime friends Tim Gillies and Dave Rozycki; the Williams family; The Beaudoin family, the Webster family and countless other friends and family close and dear to his heart and memories.
