Father and son arrested with unauthorized weapons and pills at Wasaga Beach

OPP say they seized more than $33,000 in cash along with 10 cell phones, an Airsoft rifle, an Airsoft handgun and BB guns

Officers from the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit seized a large quantity of unauthorized prescription drugs while executing a search warrant on 8 December at a residence in Wasaga Beach.

Following the investigation, the following were seized:

  • Codeine
  • Oxycodone
  • Alprazolam
  • Nabilone
  • Cash – $33,260 in Canadian currency
  • Ten cell phones
  • An Airsoft rifle, an Airsoft handgun and two BB guns

In addition to the seizure, the two residents of the home, a 55-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, were both charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Both defendants are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood in January 2022 to face charges.
