Driver injured in Wasaga crash also charged with impaired driving


Police were called to the collision between two cars on Mosley Street at 8pm on January 19.

WASAGA BEACH – On January 19, 2022, at approximately 8:12 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huronia West Detachment responded to a two-car collision that occurred on Mosley Street near 65th Street north into the town of Wasaga. Beach.

Upon arrival, police spoke to the two drivers, one of whom prompted police to open an impaired driving investigation. This driver was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital with minor injuries. The other driver involved in the collision was not injured.

As a result of this collision, Jill Vanzella, 60, of Wasaga Beach, was charged with:

  • Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus

Vanzella’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was seized for seven days. She is due to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood in February 2022.
