Extension workshops The Virginia Cooperative Extension offers the following workshops for producers to help plan and establish cattle herds:

• Morning workshop on June 3: choosing, sizing, adjusting production and marketing your herd for producers considering artificial insemination as a means of improving the herd; afternoon workshop: adjusting current production and marketing models for experienced beef producers who think critically about herd efficiency, farming methods and marketing strategies.

• June 17 morning and afternoon workshops: hands-on workshop for producers working with cattle reproductive pathways and observing heifer insemination.
