BLUNDELL, June – Obituary – Barrie


It is with joy and sadness that we announce that June Elaine Blundell passed away peacefully in the arms of her Savior in her 76th year on Friday June 3, 2022 while under the care and compassion of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center with her daughter Melissa by her side. June was born on December 18, 1946, the middle of five daughters, to Cornelius and Dorothy (Payne) Blundell in Barrie, Ontario. Cornelius served in the Second World War and Dorothy had come to Canada at the age of 10 as a British child. June is predeceased by her parents and sisters Ellen Elliot (1976), Shirley Tilley (2005) and Beverley (2010) as well as her beloved son Sheldon (2019) and granddaughter Tara Summer (1992). June is survived by one sister, Betty Pera, of Barrie, her daughter Melissa Wiley (Chris) of St. Thomas, her grandsons Sean Kennedy of Barrie, Matthew Black of Vancouver and her granddaughters Camille Black of Vancouver, Grace Wiley, Erica Wiley and Lillian. Wiley of St. Thomas. June will be fondly remembered by her nieces Sheila Klemm (Carlo) of Edson, Alberta, Sharlene McDonald (Gary 2019) of Edmonton, Nancy Meyers (Russ) of Wasaga Beach and all of their families. Nephews Shane Tilley, Shawn Tilley, Doug Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Tim Elliot also feel the loss of their Aunt June. June took a deep dive into her family history and had the pleasure of being married to her niece Nancy in 2018. June will be sadly missed by Robin and Darcy and their daughter, DJ Brawata, whom June considered her adopted granddaughter. June will be missed by many friends from her years of faithfulness and service to Bethel Community Church, and most recently to the congregation at Westminster Presbyterian Church. A special thank you to friends Vicki, Bruce, Joan, Debbi, Dennis, Heidi and many other friends and neighbors who have given June much attention and support over the past few months. Your kindness has been a comfort to our family. The cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of life for June Blundell at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022]at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 170 Steel St., Barrie, Ontario under the care of Pastors Bruce Sticklee and Matthew Ruttan.
