BARB BROLLEY obituary (2021) – Alliston, ON

BROLLEY, BARB (née BALL) Barb died in Newmarket on Saturday, August 21, 2021, after a short and fiery battle with cancer, at the age of 80. Barb was buried in Christ Church-Saint Judes Cemetery in Ivy, alongside her husband Bruce. She was a loving mother and grandmother to Bruce (Margaret), Janice Zister (Jerry) and their grandchildren Jez, Will, Sarah and Brittany. She is survived by her sisters Mary Yorke (Ron) and Evelyn Stewart. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Edith, her brother John and her brother-in-law Bill Stewart. Barb will be sadly missed by her many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Barb grew up on a farm in Alliston and has spent many idyllic summers at Wasaga Beach. She then moved to Aurora, where she raised her family. She was proud of the 25 years she spent at Canada’s Wonderland, watching it grow from day one, and loved sharing the park with her family and friends. Barb enjoyed gardening and sharing her beautiful roses with many of her friends. It was a familiar site blowing snow in winter, one of his favorite activities, often helping neighbors deal with heavy snowfall. Over the years, Barb has enjoyed her frequent trips to see her family out west and to various parts of Ontario, and this was sorely missed when travel restrictions reduced these. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and shared their life. Her spirit of independence accompanied her until the end. The family would like to thank the staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice for their compassion and humor in her latest illness. Memorial donations to the Margaret Bahen Hospice would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer of 2022. Condolences and memories online can be shared at:
