A COVID-19 reminder is offered at community clinics in Simcoe Muskoka


COVID-19 booster shots are offered at community clinics in Simcoe Muskoka for eligible residents.

Booster shots are available for residents who received their second dose at least six months before “extending their protection due to increased risk of exposure, severe illness and waning immunity.”

Eligible individuals include residents of long-term care homes and retirement homes, residents of First Nations seniors’ residences, and seniors living in congregate settings.

This also includes healthcare workers, essential caregivers in congregate settings, anyone who has received two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine or one dose of Janssen, First Nations adults, Inuit, Métis and non-Indigenous members of their household, aged 16 or over. .

Additionally, anyone deemed to be immunocompromised is encouraged to receive a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

From December 13, anyone aged 50 and over will also be eligible.

Third doses are also available at RVH Sperling Drive Clinic in Barrie, Cottage Country Family Health Team in Gravenhurst and Algonquin Family Health Team in Huntsville.

Eligible residents can also make an appointment for their third dose at select pharmacies and with GO-VAXX Bus Mobile Clinics.
